It may be a bit early but never to soon.

So what are we looking at for class structures? Will they reflect the 2008 ones?

Tentative date?

Thanks!

Classes may be groomed a little, nothing major.
I would like to get some ideas of when people want to do it. I like Summer but it will be HOT!!! How about Halloween? October in Dublin Ga is nice....

I think since a majority of the races are at MGKT ,I think we should try to have a race the same weekend as an AMA race , at an AMA race . I don't want to loose the business at my track but I think it would be the best for the club and mini racing in general . This would have to be planed way in advance tho to book the weekend. Think of how many spectators there would be and how it would help grow the sport in leaps and bounds.

Phil- I must say that is truly a brilliant idea! It just so happens that NJ has a kart track in close proximity to the big track Wink

I am crew chief of an AMA moto-GT team, so that would work out great for me. I'll be there anyways.

Very cool idea... Seems like practice could be during the day(s) but the races would need to be in the evening/night if you expected people from the AMA race to come over and spectate. If there were a place to race close to a pro event...there are tremendous promotion possibilities! A good announcer and PA system would also be a must, they could interview anyone famous who might show up. Wink

I think we have 3 opp Road America,VIR and New Jersey. I know VIR is the closest are they willing to give up their kart rental buisness that weekend tho? Road America is under the same situation. I know that New Jersey is a drive but they have the room to do so and the course has aditional track legnth to still run the rental karts at the same time. The track manager would love to have us up there as well.Cam and I rode the track and took a good look at the pits they are great an the fans are plenty.

I promised my wife and SEMRA that I would not do a crazy road trip for the 2nd National. I drug my wife and daughter all the way to Wisconsin. I will FIRST have to discuss this with the wife. That may seem weird to some. I have no problem setting it up with NJMP. I know the manager of the kart track and had discussions with the GM of the entire facility. I had thought about it for 2011..... I will not go any further until the wife is on board. Cam

I've piloted karts on VIR and NJMP, and they are both fun tracks. VIR has the elevation changes and an off camber turn that climbs or decends depending on direction. I prefer VIR since it is closer, but I'm ok with NJMP too.

New Jersey is out. They have a state law that will not allow anyone under the age of 16 to compete against adults...... Our kids are on the grids at the AMA events by 16....... I would not ask any of the expert kids to drive all the way to New Jersey to compete against just kids. Sorry, Cam

I will tell you this much, John, Phil, and I are looking at a few other options. Keep in mind that all "race tracks" do not want us, they "tolerate" us. I want our National to be at a track that wants us there, makes for a good weekend. USAIR in Wisconsin loved us, just a loooonnnnggg drive. BTW, the track manager for the 2008 National now runs the New Jersey track. Scott likes the bikes, just some weird laws in NJ.

I'm thinking strictly from the AMA perspective. Especially if you could work with the promoters of the VIR event, also letting them promote the mini national. I know whoever the group is does one heckuva job promoting that race.
