I have suspended the 2009 National for right now. I will revisit this subject in months to come with Lisa, John, Wayne, and Kerry. Thanks for your understanding. Cam _________________ You want a fast kid? Get him/her a slow bike! |

attendance issues? Isn't the nationals supposed to take place at the last SEMRA race of the season? I believe FLSupermoto is going to be there this same weekend as well and I am sure FLAMRA. _________________ When all is said and done you're still an adult racing mini bikes. Its fun, but thats it. Ben I think the correct term to use is; SEMRA points will be awarded at the Nationals. I am not aware of any 3 day event put on by SEMRA up to this point. If you read close it says "suspended" rather than canceled as other series have announced.
Knowing what I know I think it is a very wise move on M&M Racing's part. _________________ "Good judgement comes from experience, and experience comes from bad judgement." |

Ben, you are one of the most loyal families we have right now. If I had 30 families just like you, I would not have made this decision. I am self-employed twice. This is going to be a bumpy start to a race year. I felt like I had to suspend this race to see how it goes for a few months. It may go either way. Thanks, Cam _________________ You want a fast kid? No problem I am by no means arguing either way. Just wondering if it was attendance issues because I wasn't aware if we were supposed to be signing up or not yet.
Wayne, I wasn't sure how that was all going to be handled I just saw on a couple of boards that there were races at Monticello on the same weekend as we were going to be there so I assumed it was all going to be folded into the same event kinda like we did the FLAMRA/SEMRA event last year at Monticello or the GAMRA/SEMRA event at BTK last year.
In anycase, whatever you decide I am sure you have your reasons. Let me know if there is anything we can do to help out. _________________ When all is said and done you're still an adult racing mini bikes. Its fun, but thats it. Enjoy yourself.... |

To Mook or anyone reading this please put the important part of the statement on the "wisdom", rather than thinking something is being hidden.
What DO I know!
If not the oldest, I am one of the senior members on this forum. I worked the real estate market for 20 years in the 70's and 80's handling large amounts of capital (but keeping very little) as well as hearing my name at foreclosure auctions from the steps of the court house. Having lived it I think I am qualified to make the statement: financial responsibility has a risk reward factor, and without a doubt that risk is the highest I have seen in my lifetime. To recover the upfront capital outlay requires added sponsors help rather than attendance along. No need to go into how many big sponsors have "pulled the plug" in the last month and we rely on small sponsorships so what should M&M Racing expect. SEMRA is expecting less interest and trying to adjust for an 8 month season, whereas the Nationals is a one shot deal and nine months out. My intent was to applaud M&M Racing taking the "wait and see attitude" rather than something to hide and kept secret. I am sorry if I misled anyone in making the statements I made.
My Dad used to say...."Better to be safe than sorry"! _________________ "Good judgement comes from experience, and experience comes from bad judgement." |

Most of you know that Wayne (PicPapa) is my stepdad. We talk 4 or more times a week. He does know more than he is typing but as they say in the movies, "You are on a need to know basis and ......................". I have tried to get in a "post only facts" mood. no worries, just wondering if there was something we could do to help. We'll just wait it out and hopefully the season goes well and we can all continue as normal. _________________ When all is said and done you're still an adult racing mini bikes. Its fun, but thats it. Enjoy yourself.... |
