Monticello Florida. JC and I have been talking for months and he has been more than accommodating. The other tracks showed little if no interest in our event. This is a top notch track. The track was designed by Juan Pablo Montoya SR. I will post some video and website info. Thanks JC. Cam
This is Walter and Jamie racing spec bikes at Monticello.......

Cool. Are you running the full track? We (SEMRA) will be running the full track for our October race. Monticello is a fun track, although kind of expensive.

I see no reason to shorten the course. Cam _________________ You want a fast kid? Get him/her a slow bike! |

Yeah baby yeah.....
Looks awesome Cam, Great Job!!!!
Okay then, the mini road racing ethics committee mandates that all national tracks are "off limits" to local events and/or practice. This makes for fair competition on national race days. LOL.....
Good Job Camster!!!! |

For those that have never raced this track, it may be worth mentioning that video posted at the beginning is not the full course. Also, if you look at the tracks web-site, the direction they indicate is opposite from what SEMRA has raced in the past and this upcomming October. I did not want anyone confused when looking at the attachments. This is going to be a great place to hold a National, although it will be tough to match USAIR, especially the facilities, this track is world class and worthy of the National. _________________ Stason Tyrrell

| I have just one concern...if this is to be a national event, might it be an advantage to have the location more accessable to more riders? Just a thought. Tdub |

I held a race 1100 miles from my shop. It cost me personally $1000 in fuel. I had lots of organizations and racers say they would show up. Lisa did the math and 80% of the racers were SEMRA racers. Why should I penalize all the SEMRA racers by making them travel 1000 miles again. If the 2009 has a better number of other organizations, I may move it for 2010. Loretta Lynn's is in Tennessee, people from all over the world go to the race......... You gonna do tech again Tryce....... Cam _________________ You want a fast kid? Get him/her a slow bike! |

| Damn thats a long haul from minneapolis, Mn. I really get into this mini racing, but i know a good portion of my crew is not down for a haul like that. Its tough to get 4 days off of work just for travel. I'd pretty much write off all of the west coast for any type of participation. I'm more than willing to make the trek to flordia because of my dedication to the sport, but man thats a haul for most people. Moto is a whole different situation when it comes to competition. Lorettas is an event that gets 1400 qualified entries. These kids are shooting for careers in motocross. Granted, we all all very competitive, but we are not making money doing this. Again, thanks for the effort in all of this. I'm just trying to put in my 2 cents! |

One person, thank you Troy, came from the West Coast for the 2008 race. You hit the nail on the head. I am trying to get kids a career in road racing with the Minis. Truth is that no magazine or company wants to sponsor a washed up ex-roadracer like me. I have no problem with that. Companies like Cobra and magazines like Cycle News and RRW want to hear about the kids that are the future of our sport. If we get a track that wants us and racers willing to show up, I will move the 2010 race more west. Thanks for you dedication. You can always ship your bike and fly in.
