SEMRA 2011 Class Structure
Machines are divided into classes based on the criteria of engine displacement and type (two stroke/four stroke), wheel size, and water or air cooled.
Kids Novice B – (Ages 4–7) Sponsored by: SEMRA
50cc Two stroke, 100cc Four stroke
Kids Novice A – (Ages 8–13) Sponsored by: Kling Racing, Cobra of Augusta
Up to 125cc four stroke, stock motors. 50cc two stroke. No engine mods. Aftermarket pipe and jetting changes only.
Kids Cup – (Ages 6–13) Sponsored by: SEMRA
This is an intermediate class for Kids novice racers to gain more experience. It will run concurrently with F1. Bikes must meet Kids Novice A or Formula 1 rules!
Kids Expert (Ages 7–13) Sponsored by: SEMRA
Up to 65cc two stroke, up to 125cc four stroke. Racers in this class MUST be approved by Semra officials
Adult Novice
Can race any SEMRA legal mini. Racers will be moved to appropriate class when SEMRA approves it, or requires it. This will generally occur when a riders lap times reach 110% of main event times.
Formula 1 Sponsored by: SEMRA
50cc water cooled two strokes, 60cc air–cooled two strokes, and up to 112cc air–cooled four strokes.
Formula 2
Two strokes up to 65cc, 4 strokes up to 125cc under Superbike rules. Bikes may have unlimited engine mods but must not exceed max displacement.
GP 85
Two strokes up to 85cc, Air-Cooled four strokes up to 190cc under Superbike rules.
Thumper 136
Four stroke machines only up to 136cc under Superbike rules. Unlimited engine mods, but can not exceed 136cc. Examples: XR100, TTR125, DR125, Spec Bike
Thumper 150
Four stroke machines up to150cc for water–cooled and 190cc for air–cooled under Superbike rules. Unlimited engine modifications, but must not exceed maximum displacement.
SuperMini
Two stokes machines up to 105cc maximum displacement or Four stroke machines up to 150cc for water–cooled and 190cc for air–cooled. Unlimited engine modifications, but must not exceed maximum displacement.
Supermoto
Up to 525cc dirt bike chassis, any wheels.
LW Spec Sponsored by: Thumpstar
Thumpstar/SEMRA Spec bike 125cc – Rider and gear weighing 194 Lbs or less.
Both HW and LW Spec will be on the track concurrently.
HW Spec Sponsored by: Thumpstar
Thumpstar/SEMRA Spec bike 125cc – Rider and gear weighing 195 Lbs or more.
Both HW and LW Spec will be on the track concurrently.
